Family Day Out at Zoo Negara

These days, whenever we think about having a family outing, we only could think about going to catch a movie, shopping and eat at a mall. Not getting very creative, are we? :P

But last Saturday, we did something different! My family and I spent the day at Zoo Negara at Ampang, KL, and we had a special production team from Sharp filming our happy family moments just for us! Thank you, Sharp for the wonderful gesture! Can't wait to see the video next week :))

The last time I visited the zoo was probably 3-4 years ago, and I must say that things have improved a lot since the last I was there! The facilities are newer, much cleaner, and just nicer to visit generally. They have given quite a makeover to the zoo and I could see that it's attracting more and more visitors, especially with the adoption of the two pandas from China!

Here are the moments captured on my cam. First stop, the Butterfly Garden.

Butterflies are so beautiful. Just look at their wings! Amazing creation of God.

DND. Instagrammer at work ;)

By the way, this is my sister Gladys who takes wonderful photos. She has this natural talent to capture objects and edit them beautifully. I can try very hard and still not be as good as her. Go check out her Insta account at @gladystanxy :)

Here's my daddy aka Warlord trying to attract a butterfly to land on his hand hehe.

My three little sisters who are not so little anymore :(

Some random butterfly that landed on the net. I'm quite happy with this shot le :P

And this shot too :P
Budderfly so beautipool!!

So we learned that butterflies they love flowers and...

...fruits! Pineapples, grapefuits and dragonfruits. All the expensive fruits.
Tsk tsk high maintenance creatures you...

Some rare flower. So the purdy!

Aside from butterflies, there were many other insects too. Here's a less nasty one.
Spot the insect!

Next up- Giraffes!

I personally love giraffes. They're so beautiful and graceful. They look so kind and gracious and give off a very gentle aura. They give me the feeling that I can sleep in their cage with them and they will not harm me. I mean, look at that. How bad can it get!

Evangeline loves the giraffes too!

Kodak moment! We caught the giraffe smelling the butt butt of its other half. Apparently animals they give off a kinda smell to attract their other halves (like, you know, seduce). Haha who knew after this shot was taken, the giraffe starting pooping round, hard, stone-like poops. Hahaha imagine la what a turn off for the other giraffe :')

Love conquers all. The other giraffe did not mind and was still pretty much in love and seduced. Haha!

Giraffe prints are so beautiful.

How tall are you compared to a giraffe? So sad that I'm even shorter than a baby giraffe :')

More giraffe shots!
Was wearing Chiq Fliq off-shoulder floral top (coming soon) and origami skorts.

Look ma! Selfie dengan girafa!

Spot the birdie!

Charity was trying to get close to the cute birdie resting on the ground. I mean, look at that. It looks so serene and peaceful.

How would it harm a little girl right I mean, this birdie is harmless.

And then it surprised us all and started to strike! Look at its legs unfolding (can't think of a better word haha)! After this shot was taken Charity ran like crazy while the birdie stood up and shooed her away. Hahaha stepped into its comfort zone perhaps.

Since then, it's been posing like this. #likeabaus

Photo with the #baus. Was careful not to step into its comfort zone. Haha!

#baus' friends and family.

More #baus' friends and family members.
Here's master shifu doing yoga in search for inner zen.

Sorry I don't know what these birds are called so birdie/baus shall do. I don't think they're pelicans cos pelicans have shorter legs. Do you know what they're called? Please enlighten me!

"Found any fishes yet. Faster you. I'm hungers."

The beautiful lake in the middle of the zoo. This kind of reminds me of Osaka a bit, the lake outside Osaka Palace. A bit la a bit.

Where to next?

But first, we're kinda hungry, let's crack some eggs!

Didn't work, so we shall sit on them. Hopefully they'll hatch! ;)

They'll such little ladies now. Time flies too fast!

More birdies/baus at the bird zone. Dont like birds so didn't stay there for too long. Lots of other beautiful animals to see like the DEER!

So cute!!!

And then we bumped into more birds. No idea what this species is called, but it's kinda interesting! It They have this flap under their beaks that is constantly flapping and moving. Haha cools.

It was around 3pm at that time. So it was napping time! So sad cos all the animals started to tak layan us :(

Just chillin. Really x layan.

So we moved to the elephants! Love the cave-like home they built for them!

The elephants are so smart! The moment the zookeeper brought in their food, they knew it was feeding time and started to follow him everywhere he went!

Before the zookeeper even put down the food bucket, the elephant already opened its mouth all ready to eat! Cheeky max!

Now both of them were ready and waiting to be fed!

Meal of the day: Papayas!

"We're both readehhhh. Now feed us them papayas."

I think there were a total of 5-10 papayas fed to them in total. Phew!

Otters!!

Swimming taime!

Camels! Guess Malaysia IS hot enough to host the camels eh.

Look at those humps and lumps! #curvy

The cheekiest animals of all time- the Orang Utans! They knew we were there to watch them so they started to do all kinds of things to entertain us.

Such as playing and swinging around with the rope.

Posing GQ Magazine style.

Posing Vogue Magazine style.

Orang Utan #1: "Hey, they're watching us. It's showtime. Come pose with me."

Orang Utan #2: "Meh. I'd rather sit here and dig my eyes."

This photo pretty much sums up their personalities. Performers and...a bummer.

After posing, more stunts!

And then he started pulling the grass off the ground in this position. #claps

They're camera ready. Born ready.

Pulling their best monkey faces but fail cos the holes too big :')

On to the chimps!
This one here looks like the leader of the pack- Caesar! Look at his hand muscles!

Newborn baby chimp! Sooooo cute!

Family tree.

I loved observing the mummy and baby chimp. It's amazing how they're so alike us humans.

Look at the baby chimp!

Mum be like, chillin. He can handle thattt.

We didn't manage to cover the whole zoo cos it was too big! Dont remember it being this huge! Before we left, family photo with the best background ever.

I don't know what made us laugh like that but, it was a happy day :)

The 7 sisters.

A huge thanks to the team from Sharp for our trip to the zoo, and for capturing all the moments we spent together as a family. Can't wait to view the video in HD next week on the new Sharp Aquos Quattron Pro TV! :))

Til' then!
Happy Malaysia Day, fellow Malaysians :)
